Blood oranges are ten times better than navel in my book. Not only because of their stunning crimson color, but they have this hint of raspberry that adds a floral note to the citrus taste. I was recently in a juicing mood and picked up lots of fruits and veggies from my local farmers market, and lo and behold 2 oranges for a dollar! Naturally I picked up 8 of them, so now I'm stuck trying to get rid of these beauties.

1. Juicing! If you have a juicer, please do yourself a favor and juice your oranges ! The possibilities are endless, blood orange juice, lemonade, or cocktails. I was craving a homemade lemonade and mixed some blood orange juice in there to give it a sweet balanced taste. Eventually I added some vodka and made a martini lol.

2. Salads! I love adding fruits to my salads too sweeten them up. Slicing a blood orange and adding it to a salad with dark leafy greens can not only balance that bitter flavor but add a pop of color to your salad making it Instagram worthy.

3.Marinades! Squeezing a few blood oranges over fish, poultry or pork can give it that citrus fresh flavor, especially if you marinate over night! Look forward to a tasty and flavorful dish for dinner.

These are just a few quick ideas for you guys! Let me know if you want specific recipes for my blood orange martini!
